10th Annual Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry (OOVAR) Juried Art Show August 10, 2016 The Ohio Arts Council is excited to partner with the Columbus Metropolitan Main Library and Friends of the Library for the 10th Annual Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry (OOVAR) Juried Art Show. For more than a decade, these three organizations have partnered together to showcase Ohio artists registered in OOVAR, a database of work of more than 1,900 artists from Ohio and all over the world. To enter, you must be an Ohio artist, 18 years or older, and registered with the Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry by September 9, 2016. Images do not have to appear on the registry by September 9 to be eligible to apply to the Juried Art Show. The images you submit for the registry and for this exhibition are separate. Selected works will be featured in the Carnegie Gallery at the recently-renovated Columbus Metropolitan Main Library from November 3, 2016, until January 7, 2017. A closing reception is planned for January 7, 2017, 2-4 p.m. at the Main Library. In addition to exposure through the OOVAR Show at the Carnegie Gallery, there are also monetary awards for selected artists, including the $1,000 Juror’s Choice Award and the $500 People’s Choice Award. The Juror’s Choice selection is based on a collection of standards such as innovation in style or concept, artistic expression, and experimentation. The People’s Choice selection is based on ballots cast by patrons of the gallery and library. With no set theme, the possibilities for creativity and variety are endless. Share the Call-for-Entry with an artist or submit your work today.
