Ohio Arts Council Accepting Applications for Sustainability Grants

The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) is currently accepting applications for the Sustainability grant program.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on February 1, 2019 in order to be considered. Applications must be submitted via the ARTIE system. Please refer to the ARTIE: Organizational Grant Applications guidelines for a description of the process.

The Sustainability program supports ongoing arts and cultural activities in all genres. These general operating support grants are awarded to the largest and most administratively sophisticated organizations in the state's arts and cultural ecosystem. This flexible and reliable funding supports a wide range of the state's arts providers as they make high-quality artistic experiences available to residents and visitors, positioning Ohio as a national leader in creativity, artistry, and cultural wealth.

Grants vary in size and are determined by a formula that takes into account panel evaluation of each application and the applying organization's operating income. All awards require a 1:1 cash match.

All applicants must possess nonprofit status or nonprofit intent, and Sustainability awards are only given to applicants who have received at least two OAC grants in the last four OAC fiscal years. This support must have come from an OAC funding program that evaluated and scored the application through a public panel process. Additionally, Sustainability applicants' last fiscal year income must be greater than $50,000.

More eligibility details are covered in the Sustainability grant PDF. Questions regarding program elligibility and application procedures can be addressed to the OAC Organizational Programs Coordinators assigned to three Ohio regions.
