Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery Opens Women to Watch Ohio - 2018 through July 7

Women to Watch Ohio - 2018, on view at the Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery, was organized in partnership with the Ohio Advisory Group of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. This exhibition, curated by Ann Bremner and Matt Distel, features 10 Ohio women artists who work in metal.

A History of Advocating for Women in the Arts

In January, the voices of pioneering female artists from the past found a new outlet on late-night television: Frida Kahlo, Kathe Kollwitz, and Zubeida Agha—clad in black garb and gorilla masks—sat down with talk show host Stephen Colbert for a pithy and informative chat about the under-representation of women and artists of color in the art world.
