Ohio Poetry Out Loud Turns 15, Celebrates New Partnerships

Registration is now open for 2019-20 Ohio Poetry Out Loud (POL). Now in its 15th year, POL connects high school students to some of the best poetry ever written from a diverse array of poets from around the world and gives them a chance to represent their states on the national stage.

Athens Organization Selected to Host Rural Design Workshop Led by National Endowment for the Arts

An organization in Athens, Ohio, has been selected to host a multi-day design workshop focusing on rural design and creative placemaking. Part of the Citizens’ Institute on Rural Design program, a national initiative that aims to support rural communities through hands-on training and other events, the workshop in Athens will focus on the efforts to preserve and reimagine the use of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a century-old church founded in 1872 that is the last standing building in the city that was built by free-born and formerly enslaved black artisans.
