Sue Cavanaugh will share her hand stitching secrets that allow her to work large and create unique gathers and texture. Working with repurposed curtain sheers you’ll hand stitch and gather using a sharp needle to make a scarf.
Cavanaugh’s work has been juried into national and international exhibits and won her an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Greater Columbus Arts Council in 2016, and a Dresden residency in 2012. She’s known for her hand gathering of cloth and large installations, including a 24’ x 20’ x 8’ work at the Columbus Museum of Art in 2017.
Cavanaugh has a B.S. and MA. from Ohio State where she worked for 30 years. She is represented by Muse Gallery. suecavanaughart.com
