The Ohio Arts Council is excited to welcome Arts Impact Ohio participants back to an in-person gathering in Akron! We are aware that COVID-19 is still present, and the pandemic affects individuals differently. We encourage everyone, to be diligent about their personal health while attending the conference.
As of this writing on August 30 there are no state or federal government restrictions on indoor gatherings, masking requirements, or vaccinations requirements in place for Akron, Ohio. OAC staff will revisit this policy and post any updates as they become available.

Not currently. Attendees who are fully vaccinated and not experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms are free to attend without a mask. We also encourage anyone seeking additional protection to consider bringing and wearing a mask. Our team will have a limited supply of surgical masks available at the Registration desk.
Yes, but unvaccinated guests are strongly encouraged to wear a mask throughout the event, as well as to social distance during mealtimes. While proof of vaccination status is not required to attend, all attendees are strongly encouraged to complete their vaccination series no later than 14 days prior to the start of the event.

The Courtyard by Marriott Akron Downtown offers low-contact, mobile check-in services via the Marriott app. Room keys can then be picked up quickly upon arrival. Occupied rooms are cleaned every other day, with guests able to request a daily refresh if they so choose. Specifics on cleanliness protocols can be found at clean.marriott.com.
The health and safety of guests is a top priority at the John S. Knight Center. In response to the pandemic, the center has enhanced building cleaning and sanitizing protocols, upgraded to a Merv 14 filtration system, implemented daily staff health assessments, and installed hand sanitizing stations throughout the building.
All venue staff and event managers, including OAC staff and presenters, have the option of wearing masks. All OAC staff members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
