Opening Night of Kleibacker: New York Designer to Ohio Curator

  • Thurday, May 8
    5 - 8 p.m.

    Come to the Riffe Gallery for the opening of this fashion-forward exhibition. The evening will kick off at 5 p.m. with a tour of the exhibition by Mr. Charles Kleibacker himself followed by a reception at 6 p.m.

Exhibition Tour of Kleibacker: New York Designer to Ohio Curator

  • Friday, May 16
    noon - 1 p.m.

    Come to the Riffe Gallery for a guided tour of Kleibacker: New York Designer to Ohio Curator. Charles Kleibacker will lead tour and discuss in person his experiences as a designer and curator.

Family Workshop: Designer for a Day

  • Sunday, June 8
    2 - 4 p.m.
    Capitol Theatre lobby, Riffe Center third floor

    Riffe Gallery staff will help children ages 6 – 17 design and construct an original fashion accessory. Participants will explore pattern planning, execute the design in felt and embellish it with various materials. Registration is required as space is limited, and all children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration is online and ends May 19. Go to registration. This event is FULL. Use the link to register for the waitlist.

The Riffe Gallery’s Education Program seeks to increase public appreciation and understanding of the gallery's exhibitions.

Below are photos from the Riffe Gallery's August 5, 2007, family workshop: Build a Landscape! Children and their adult companions were invited to create a three dimensional place with Riffe Gallery staff and then the pieces were brought together to show how individual places create a community.

Children collect boxes and art supplies to start making their buildings. Folks of all ages enjoy the August 5 Riffe Gallery family workshop. One young artists builds a sky scraper.

This mother daughter team builds their own hotel, complete with swimming pool! How about a robot house? Attention to detail helps make these 3-d works stand out.
These artists work with cardboard boxes next to artist Tom Macaulays installation made of cardboard boxes. Riffe Gallery staff lend a helping hand during the August 5 Riffe Gallery family workshop.
Artists bring their buildings together to see how they create a community. The community created by Riffe Gallery family workshop participants has every thing from farm to motel. This farm is just one of many 3-d pieces that came out of the August 5 Riffe Gallery family workshop.
