Governor Kasich Appoints New OAC Board Chair, Vice-Chair

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Governor John R. Kasich has reappointed Ohio Arts Council (OAC) board member Ginger Warner of Cincinnati for a term beginning July 29, 2016, until July 1, 2021. Ms. Warner will serve as OAC chair, having served as OAC vice-chair prior to her reappointment. Governor Kasich has named OAC board member James F. Dicke II as the new vice-chair.

“Ginger Warner's dedication to ensuring arts and culture for all Ohioans will transition wonderfully to her role as OAC board chair," said Donna Collins, OAC executive director. “We know that strong leadership is crucial to communicate the impact of the arts on education, jobs, and community engagement in our state, and we are thrilled that Jim F. Dicke II will bring his expertise to the table as vice chair.”

Ms. Warner previously served as vice-chair for nearly five years and was first appointed to the OAC in 1997. In 2016, she was awarded the William R. Joseph Arts Advocacy Medal from the Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation. A graduate of the New York University School of Law, Ms. Warner worked as an attorney in private and corporate practice and has served on the boards of many arts, civic, and cultural organizations.

Mr. Dicke is the chairman and CEO of Crown Equipment Corporation, the fifth-largest manufacturer of industrial forklifts in the world. Mr. Dicke is also an artist, photographer, and chairman emeritus at the Dayton Art Institute.

Governor Kasich also reappointed OAC board member Monica Kridler of Columbus for a term beginning July 29, 2016, and ending July 1, 2021. Ms. Kridler is the founder and artistic director of Momentum, a dance education program that uses dance to teach excellence, primarily to inner-city, elementary-aged boys and girls.

All appointments remain subject to the advice and consent of the Ohio Senate.
