JOSEPH OHIO ARTS ADVOCACY MEDAL Karen Waldbillig Kasich has been selected as the 2017 recipient of the William R. Joseph Ohio Arts Advocacy Medal by Ohio Citizens for the Arts (OCA), whose foundation partners with the Ohio Arts Council to present the annual Arts Day & Governor's Awards for the Arts in Ohio luncheon. Mrs. Kasich created the Spotlight: Featured Artists at the Ohio Governor's Residence program in 2013, which celebrates and features works by Ohio artists at the Governor's Residence each quarter. She has also promoted the Youth Art Exhibition at the Ohio State Fair and Ohio's first Poet Laureate Dr. Amit Majmudar, among other arts-related activities. The William R. Joseph Arts Advocacy Medal celebrates the life and legacy of OCA's founder and will be presented alongside the Governor's Awards at the 2017 Arts Day & Governor's Awards luncheon on May 17 at noon at the Columbus Athenaeum.
