An exhibiting artist in the Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery's 2017 Biennial Juried Exhibition, April Deacon will talk about her artwork and career.
April Deacon cut, colored, and pasted her way through her youth to adulthood, where her materials became slightly more sophisticated and extraordinarily more expensive. Concentrating in painting, she earned her BFA from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2002. Soon after, she married her husband Michael and returned to Ohio Wesleyan to obtain a teaching certification in Art. She has been teaching high school art since 2003. She completed her MA in Art and Design at Marshall University in 2007. She lives in Southern Ohio with her husband and two daughters, who keep her eternally inspired.
